OUR COMPANY

OUR MISSION

At Un-Waste, our vision is a world where waste is a resource, not a burden. We are committed to revolutionizing the way society views and handles waste by transforming it into valuable resources through recycling, regeneration, and upcycling.

Our mission is to divert waste streams from landfills, fostering a more eco-conscious and sustainable future. Through education and innovation, we aim to change hearts and minds, encouraging small but impactful changes in consumption habits. Together, we can create a world where we use only what we need, reuse what we can, and recycle and upcycle the rest, embodying the principle of 'waste not, want not.'

our services

Un-Waste has transformed from an Organics Recycling and Microhauling business into a fully integrated solution for recycling outside of the ordinary.  What started as taking food scraps and other compostable items from residents and small businesses became the ability to take 20+ streams of waste that typically cannot be thrown into municipal recycling bins.

Our Organics Recycling Service collects food waste and other organics to be recycled into renewable energy, premium compost, and liquid fertilizer at Trenton Renewables.  By recycling your organics, you can help to mitigate the amount of greenhouse gas emissions created from sending them to the landfill where they emit methane, a potent greenhouse gas.

Another 20+ streams of waste are collected through our partnership with TerraCycle by means of the Zero Waste Bag Program.  Collecting streams of waste that are typically considered "unrecyclable" allows us to recycle beyond the ordinary, further enabling individuals and businesses to reduce their waste even further than previously thought.

Anyone that is willing to live a greener more sustainable lifestyle that directly impacts the environment is welcome to reach out.  Through our efficient and high quality services, we assist a wide variety of establishments from single apartment dwellers to large scale commercial entities.  We offer staff education and training on source separated organics.

By way of various social outreach platforms - live and virtual - we are able to implement local community action with a global state of mind.

a message from OUR founder

To Anyone Who Takes the Time to Read This,

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your interest in Un-Waste and for taking the time to be here.  It's been a long, strenuous (albeit exciting) rollercoaster of a ride to get to this point, and I'd like to say that we're only just getting started!  From picking up buckets of food scraps in the trunk of my Chevy Cobalt from just two customers in Asbury Park to recycling beyond food waste across state lines, to say I'm grateful is an understatement.  I hope I can not only continue to grow this business/movement, but bring awareness and understanding to our mission as well.  The overall mission is (and has been) the seed of an idea that propelled me to embark on this journey in the first place.

The legacy of my father, who helped carry the weight (literally and figuratively) of food waste with me through this process, will live on continuously as the backbone of this company. It's truly bittersweet to see how Un-Waste has grown since his passing because it wouldn't have been able to grow in this way without him.  I'm amazed at how much I've seen the importance of recycling our food waste in New Jersey grow since I've started and I can't wait to see what the future holds.  I hope you'll follow us on this journey to see just how valuable recycling our organics is to the environment and the world around.

All the best,

Lauren
